SGM has launched its first-ever trend survey on the theme of Local Tourism. Here’s what we found.

– 50% of people discovered the province of Québec during their vacation, while 50% of people preferred to invest in designing their yards and homes.

– The two most popular regions of Québec are Charlevoix and Gaspésie.

– 64% of participants prefer to plan their vacation according to the advice of family and friends, 28% rely on tourism websites and 8% are inspired by social media.

These results show that, despite a pandemic, it is always possible to reinvent oneself. Whether travelling within the province or dreaming from photos on the Web, tourism remains very present in Québec. Even if the end of Summer is near, businesses will continue to benefit from local tourism and sales will be strong in the regions.
