A New Marketplace
At a time when Brick-and-Mortar retailers needs to adapt quickly, SGM, in collaboration with MEDIAVORE, have just created the first online store adapted to shopping centres. This marketplace brings together products selected from several retailers that shoppers can buy from the comfort of their own homes. This is a unique site where people can do their holiday shopping and have everything delivered free of charge* in less than 24 hours.
“What makes this platform a major innovation is that we have successfully integrated a shopping solution that covers all retailers in order to keep revenues in the shopping centres,” said Anissa Errai, VP, Consulting Services and Strategy Group at SGM.
The complexe Desjardins in Montreal is the first shopping centre in the country to adopt this transactional platform, and it is 100% Canadian. Indeed, SGM, MEDIAVORE and EVA, the cooperative that will be responsible for the express deliveries, are all homegrown businesses. “We are so pleased that Desjardins has chosen DVORE’s marketplace solution to develop a local shopping platform in partnership with SGM,” added Alexandre Jalbert, Co-founder and Digital Strategist at MEDIAVORE and DVORE.

The marketplace, which currently includes nearly 15 retailers, was launched on December 2 and will continue to evolve in 2021. The second phase will integrate all the stores and restaurants at complexe Desjardins. And in addition to the delivery service and curbside pickup, people will also have the option of coming in to pick up their purchases from secure lockers.
